Wooden Magnets Made with XTool M1

Saw an adorable magnet on Pinterest and wanted to recreate with my XTool m1.
My idea is engrave and cut the design out of basswood and glue it to a magnet.
A lot of the items I create and cut with my XTool I start by designing in Canva the first little magnet I created by adding each element from Canva separately into XCS (XTool creative Space)
Size matters when you are working with Canva and XTool, this is something I learned along the way.
When you design in Canva size your canvas to the size you want on your design.
This time with the lettering I sized it 3”x3”.
Downloaded them as png files
opened them in XTool creative space
(These magnets are made from 3mm basswood which I placed on the triangular prisms to cut.)
With your items open in XTool then trace the images in XTool so you can get clear vector lines for the program to engrave and score.
You could keep the bitmap image and use it as the engrave file and set your trace image to score but I like to delete the bitmap and use the trace to run engrave first then score.
Once you’ve got your vector for all your images and have them arranged where you want them select everything and use the outline tool in XCS and adjust the outline to your liking on the image.
I usually set my outline to the color red and set to cut, at this time I have the output set to ignore the cut so I can run the engrave to see if it’s dark enough.
After running my engrave I change the engraved selection over to score and move my red cut selection back to output and cut.
I really love how these little wooden magnets came out!
I also tried just creating a 3”x3” image in Canva and that worked well, same process.
Design in Canva downloaded as a background removed PNG then added to XTool and traced in the program to get a vector image
One of my designs is worded My Masterpiece and the other is Look What I Made, these are perfect magnets for my little ones beautiful artwork!
